I've always been interested to learn one's story of how they came into their career. The twisting and turning of paths, often guided by circumstances or inexplicable fate, seem to be vastly different in each story I hear. But the one thing that remains the same in all stories is that every single person had to find their purpose. I'm going to tell you the story about my journey as I navigated my career compass toward my purpose.

Nine years ago I wouldn't have imagined that a career as a medical device sales representative would steer me toward home care, let alone owning a home care agency! But it did.

My name is Daphne L. Slawski, raised in Cleveland since first grade. I was born in Brooklyn, New York.

But it was more than just selling medical devices. I had the pleasure of working with veterans who needed wound care. I set them up with home-based wound therapy using our medical device. I had to teach them how to use it and ensure proper safety precautions were taken. The more veterans I helped, the more I saw the need for home care aides for them and researched how I could get involved to help my patients get additional care at home.

While helping the veterans, the need for home care in my own family surfaced, as my father had been diagnosed with lung cancer. My family struggled to keep up with his care as cancer progressed. The additional support was a blessing to all of us. Losing my dad, coupled with helping veterans in the home care setting, my career compass took me to my destination. It was then I knew my calling was to help people remain in their own homes to maintain as much independence as possible while getting the assistance they need.

When I discovered Synergy HomeCare, fell in love with the brand and the people who work for the company, I knew I was "home." The rest is history. I hope that you and I will meet and we can make even more history together.
